Michael Caine enlist in Mark Millar’s “Secret Service”
Even though Michael Caine’s run as Alfred in Batman is most likely over, unless he pops up again in the Superman vs Batman movie, he still has a chance to continue his romp through comic book movies in Mark Millar’s Secret Service. Director Mathew Vaughn will piece together the onscreen adaptation of Millar’s creator-owned story.
While talking to SlashFilm, the Kick-Ass 2 writer confirmed that Caine will star along Colin Firth in the film as well. The rest of the cast has been filled in as well but no details have been revealed about their co-stars yet.
Here’s Millar’s summary of what we’re going to see in the Secret Service film set to hit theaters in the fall of next year.
So [Jane Goldman] and Mathew have done it. It’s all written now and they start shooting in five weeks or something. All the cast is done. Michael Caine is the head of this spy organization. Colin Firth is the senior guy and a new young guy coming in who’s [unintelligible]. So it’s My Fair Lady meets James Bond. It’s… I don’t know what Americans would call it, but a chav, the street kids, somebody who’s a kind of hoodie or something. It’s a scummy kid who’s being trained to be a British gentleman spy.
